The Coral Kingdom - Laura Knowles

35724189

This book would be good for younger elementary school aged children. The Coral Kingdom tells you about the coral reef - what kinds of sea creatures live near the reef, what harms the reef, how we can help the reef, and why the coral reef is important - using rhyming, which kids tend to like. I think it would be good to have the phonetic pronounciations of some words (like zooxanthellae) to help teachers/parents/reading aged children say them correctly. The illustrations are beautiful.

I received a digital copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

Baby Animals Moving - Suzi Eszterhas

This book will be a great addition to your little animal lovers library. The book tells you about all sorts of baby animals from elephants to orcas to sloths and how they get around and each animal is accompanied by a beautiful photograph.

Mary Poppins - P.L. Travers

36323868

Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers is a children's classic that even adults enjoy. It differs from the Walt Disney movie version, but most books do. The Mary Poppins in the book is less cheery than Julie Andrews but the book is still enjoyable. Mary Poppins is a nanny and comes to take care of the Banks children - they go on many adventures together and always come home safe, though Mary Poppins can be a bit mean/rude to the children. That may have been how it was back then in regards to rearing children.

Currently reading

I've been reading a bunch lately - some Fanfic, and regular novels also. Here's some in various progress right now:

  • A Throne for Sisters by Morgan Rice
  • The Fiery Cross (Outlander #5) by Diana Gabaldon
  • Wife No. 19 by Ann Eliza Young
  • Stolen Innocence by Elissa Wall

I'm nearly done 3 of them and over half through The Fiery Cross, so look for reviews soon.
